When Should I Arrange My Air Con Recharge Service?

Many vehicle manufacturers recommend a regas approximately every two years. You should be aware that this is not normally checked during the annual MOT inspection nor  as part of a regular service. Many small services only include oil and oil filter changes.  With this in mind, it’s worth having  an air con  specialist service and check your system over. You may be able to tell if your air con needs recharging if it only blows out warm air, or only works intermittently.  If you  notice any  unpleasant smells coming from the air vents, its worth checking  as this could be an indication that the system needs attention. How Does An Air Con Regas Work?We  will remove any old refrigerant gas and oil from the system before replacing it with new gas and lubricant as recommended by your car’s manufacturer. A vacuum test is also carried out to make sure that there are no hairline cracks or damage in the air con system itself which could cause the gas to leak out. We check for leaks using our UV dye treatment.

The whole regas  process , on average, takes about an hour,dependent on the make and model and amount of gas the system holds. If there are no leaks then we generally complete our work in about an hour.This can all be done from the comfort of your home.
